Recently, many mobile companies came up with handsets that supported more than one sim-cards simultaneously. But technology is growing so rapidly that those days are gone. Now, you can use up to 4 sim cards simultaneously in your mobile phone.
The technology that has made this possible is known as iSIM (Intelligent SIM) application. The iSIM is a very thing 0.4mm chip that is attached to the original socket of your mobile phone (where you insert your sim card). This thickness is equivalent to the thickness of a single sim card. But, the iSIM technology supports upto four IMSI (Internation Mobile Subscriber Identity) profiles. In simple words, up to four sim cards at a time! The technology is already there in Europe and Motorola is in talk with all the India Telecom service providers to launch iSIM in India as earliest as possible.
Apart from parental control application, the iSIM will also carry a number of intelligent features like mobile banking, near field communications (NFC), call control, alternative call routing and call back system and ‘Killer SMS’ application that blocks or resets the mobile when it is lost or stolen.
