Orkut’s new AJAX image uploader is cool. But if you’re tired of going into Orkut’s AJAX interface again and again from your web browser to upload images to your photo album, here’s a way to do that in simple steps and right from your desktop, without the need of even opening orkut.

For this, you need to have Picasa installed on your system. Picasa is a free software from Google which can be downloaded form here

After you have Picasa up and running on your system, you have to download the ‘Share photos on orkut’ plugin. After the plugin is downloaded, you would be asked for permissions to install the plugin. Click YES on the prompt that follows.

Granting permissions to install the add-on will launch Picasa software. There, you can see a new icon of orkut. Just add that orkut button to your sharing options in Picasa.

That’s it. Now you can upload photos to your orkut albums from your desktop and even while browsing them within Picasa
