In Windows 7 there are new location based sensors that change the environment of working according to the environmental changes at your location. But GPS chips are needed to detect the location. Unfortunately most of the laptops do not have GPS chips. So, in order to detect the location you can use Geosense. Geosense does the same thing as the GPS but in a different way. It gives the most possible accurate location by using IP address, Wi-Fi and any Cell tower triangulation. Geosense is a software but it lists itself in such a way that Windows 7 detects it as a location sensor. So whether you are in a Shimla(India) or in Hawaii(US) it will automatically detect your location. Here is how to use this software with the Desktop weather gadget:
-
Download Geosense from here. This software is available for 32 and 64 bit editions of Windows 7. Please keep in mind to download the correct version and install it.
-
While installing, a Windows Security prompt will come. Click on install.

-
After installation enter “location’ in the Stat menu search and click on “Location and Other Sensors”.

-
Enable the Geosense Location Sensor and click on Apply. By this you have added Geosense in the Windows Sensors and Locations list.

-
Now enable the weather gadget on your desktop. You will notice that there is a grey icon besides your location. It means that the gadget has detected Geosense automatically.
-
Go to the options of the gadget and select “Find location automatically”.

-
Now the gadget will automatically detect your location and will give you the latest weather updates. The they grey icon will turn blue as son as the location is detected.

This Geosense is not for Windows 7 starter edition as it does not include the sensors and Locations platform. It only works on Windows 7 Home Premium and higher. This software also shows your present location automatically in the Google Maps app but if in any case it does not work it will show your default location.

No, it does not. It works only with the Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate versions of Windows 7.
I always like Sunny weather and disliked gloomy rainy weather.*,~
