Gmail Gearing Up To Make Your Accounts Un-Hackable

gmail-security-issue

Gmail is the best when it comes to email services. Nearly 90% of the world’s internet population use Gmail as their primary mail application. That makes it the most sought-after service for hijacking and compromising one’s online identity. And even Google is aware of that.

So, this Wednesday, the Gmail team has announced another feature in the already secured Gmail architecture that takes security to the next level. All the Gmail users know that at the bottom of their Gmail dashboard, there is a small box that shows when and from where your account was lass accessed. This provides an added layer of security to the geeks. But what about the normal, casual users who do not understand the cryptic language of “I.P. Addressing” and “Geolocation”? The Gmail team has come up with a solution.

In addition to the present security features, Gmail would be adding an extra step fro displaying a warning to the users in a BIG BANNER way, saying “Warning, your account was accessed from…” etc. The warning would only be given if Google senses that there’s something fishy going around your account and would rarely trigger any false alarms. For instance, if you log into your account everyday from India and all of a sudden, your account is accessed from half a way around the world, Google would let you know.

This step from Gmail team indeed would take security to the next level and hopefully give users one more reason to switch to Gmail.
