Boot And Install Windows 7 From USB Flash Drive

The application which can be used to install and boot windows 7 from a USB drive is WinToFlash. It’s a great application that helps you to convert a Windows 7 installer CD/DVD into a bootable USB drive.

How To Prepare

Get a USB drive of at least 3GB capacity
The process will erase all the data in the USB drive. So, make sure you have the backup of all your important data there
You must have a Windows 7 Installer DVD, ready with you.

Installation Procedure

Download WinToFlash

Put the Windows 7 installer DVD in your drive and plug in your USB drive.

Unzip the folder to your desktop and run the WinToFlash.exe file

Some of you might see the “WinToFlash DLP_NotFound” error message. You can safely ignore this error message.

On the main screen, click on the Window Setup Transfer Wizard. This will bring you to the wizard mode where it automates (almost) the whole process for you.

On the next screen, there is an option for you to go into the Advanced mode and tweak some of the settings. You can ignore that (if you are not into tweaking) and click Next to proceed.

Point the Windows file path to the Windows Installer DVD directory.

Point the USB drive to the USB directory.

Click Next.

Accept the agreement.

Preparing your USB drive. Make sure you have backup all the important files before you proceed. This will erase all your data.

Transferring in progress. This might take a while.

Once you see the following message, the whole process is done. You can now boot Windows 7 from the USB drive.

That’s it! Now you have a bootable Windows 7 USB Drive ready with you

Microsoft Word is an application which every computer user on this earth uses. We all use Microsoft Word for our day to day life. Recently, one of my friends had trouble inserting an audio file in his Microsoft Word 2007 document. So, here is how to do it.

Word 2007 allows us to add almost any kind of file to a Word document—even sound files. The commands to do this are buried deep within the recesses of the insert menu, but once discovered, they can bring music to the dullest of documents.

Click the insert tab at the top of the screen.

Click the the text icon, and choose object.

In the window that opens, click create from file.

Click browse and find the sound file you want to add to your document. Once you have found and opened the file, click ok.
