If you are on this post, then you probably already know that WordPress support multiple authors by default. You can easily run a multi author website using WordPress, but you need to use some WordPress plugins to manage tasks such as user roles, user permissions, revenue sharing etc. Here’s a list of plugins that you can use to setup a multi authored blog in WordPress easily.
Role Manager: A perfect plugin to assign roles to various authors. You can give specific authors more privileges and assign custom roles and capabilities to them.

Author Advertising Plugin: Most blogs use Google Adsense as their revenue generating program. It’s always a good idea to share the adsense revenues with your authors. This is a simple plugin which lets you do just that.
User Photo: Allows users and authors to upload and associate their profile photo with their account by logging into “Your Profile” page in the dashboard.
Posts by Author: This plugin will show the last X posts by the current author either at the bottom of every post, or where you manually specify in each post.

Nice list. Also add status notification plugin, which notifies when a post is submitted for review.
Nice roundup for a multi-authored site , which is the second site I am building at the moment .
